Sports Maths and Earth Farts!

Right now Im writing this blog post on a... EXERCISE BALL or what ever u call it :3 its very fun until you FALLLLLLLL off. This blog post is about The Olympic CLOSING CEREMONY  and other suff.

/ \  see my awesomeness there OH YEA :3Tthe closing ceremony was spectacular  I especially liked the big INFLATABLE OCTOPUS it was EPIC!!!. Now to a very, very, sad yet great story Valerie Adams New Zealand's shot put champ was beaten by a Belorussian lady called Nadzeya Ostapchuk who was then disqualified from the Olympic finals of shot putting for testing positive for drug test. But she refuses to HAND HER FRIGGIN  MEDAL over to the Olympic committee. She says that she was framed and that Valerie was taking drugs even though Valerie didn't test positive...  Anyway I think Valerie is an awesome NZ athlete and I was seen with her (doesn't she look big?) at the Olympic Museum in Wellington.

Next up: Maths! This week I think I cracked the da Vinci Code or maybe more like the Stats code. I learned about RANGE, MEDIAN, MODE AND MEAN. We invented a game to practice this and it is awesome and we did an investigation and found out that the average size leaf on a camelia tree in our back yard (Greytown) is:   10.5 cm!!! Very cool. and a lot of leaves.

Then: EARTH FARTS! which is my mum's name for VOLCANOES. This week has been very busy underground. First Tongariro woke up, farted and went back to sleep. We could smell the gas all the way down island here! Then White Island had a spew fest and started coughing up ash. But most amazing was the navy's discovery of a huge floating mass of pumice in the Pacific caused by an underwater eruption! The mass is the size of Belgium. Read all about it here:

This week  I have been working on a page of  cartoon faces. Now I am going to start creating their profiles and stuff and maybe it will turn into a new series called The Bear Clan.

That's it for now. Time to go for my swim, I'm up to 20 lengths and this week I want to try for 30. When I'm swimming I think about not drowning and mostly just in the zone and random things pop in my head like "Man I love ginger crunch". That is my new recipe and I'm pretty proud of the results!

Toodles the Doodles The-O.

  1. Theo I love your conversational writing style - very engaging and lots of fun. I had no idea you and Valerie were so tight! Excellent learning in mathematics this week, I know Mum is really excited about how you've been learning and she is really enjoying working with you. Love the page of faces - all very cool. Can't wait for the story to develop!! Dad.

  2. Hey Theo, I notice that all your characters have interesting weapons. Bear Clan series must be a dangerous or violent place.

Can you describe ginger crunch? I'm intrigued.
