Well this week I really got started on my bear study. I wanted to do some zoology and I LOVE bears and so I have been reading and reading and researching and getting my head filled with bears. I am working on a powerpoint that I am going to show to my dad and my sister to show them some of the stuff I learned. I am also making a diorama habitat for each of my bears in my collection of figures. This is like the displays they make at museums. That would be a cool job!!!! You have to bend the background to look like the horizon and then get the model of the habitat right. Here is my first one: Ursus maritimus or in other words the polar bear. I love polar bears but they are threatened by global warming and melting ice and also I have started reading about Greenpeace and their campaign to stop drilling and shipping oil in the arctic.
This is my favourite photo of a polar bear. It is like me doing my swimming! I am up to 25 lengths now. Think I will get some flippers and try those out. or those bear paw flippers for your hands.
Now mom and I are off to play mini golf- family cup is up for grabs. Dad holds it right now, but if you are at a meeting it CAN be taken!!!

Hey Theo. Lovely to read your blog whilst taking some time out at the meeting. Don't have any fun stories about bears but I bet your Papa on PEI has probably got a story or two to share. Although I have often wondered what kind of bear Winnie the Pooh is? And why he doesn't seem to wear pants along with his jersey? Perhaps you can help. Love the diorama and can see how your desire to make one connects with your recent visit to Wellington and Te Papa. Awesome work buddy, can't wait for the powerpoint! Dad.
