It is a good time of year to make some changes so I have updated my blog as you may see: You can now feed a Panda (please ignore the advertisement I didn't have a choice), NEXT is the new Mayan background because we are studying ancient civilizations and I have found the Mayans the Aztecs and the Incas very interesting.I have a new channel of video by Tobuscus- he is a hyper dude who I think is really funny and cool.
Starting next week I will be posting the first installment of my serial comic. You will be able to see one page a week here on my blog. This week I'm working on the story in my head.
We are reading books about Ancient China for maths and I think the Terracotta Army is amazing. Also I watched a DVD about Ancient Egypt and found out some new stuff about the workers who built the pyramids and the 2 huge cedar ships that were discovered. So as you can tell we are moving from geology to archeology for awhile. I would love to go to Egypt and Central America. It is hard to do research because all these people are so nuts about the world ending in 2012 because of the Mayan calendar. That is absolutely bonkers and baloney. Here are two paintings that me and mom did after looking at Egyptian sarcophagus designs.

One other thing I'm going to do this week is get my winter cactus garden started. We are going to go to a shop and get a flat based wide planter pot and some baby cacti and some sandy soil mix and transplant our big cactus into the "garden". We found out that the school cave is perfect for growing cacti because it is hot and sunny in the day and very cold at night. Last year our baby cactus became a BIG cactus and even flowered it loved it in there so much.

So have a good week and look for the comic next week.
Toodles The-O
Well Theo! You have so much going on, I can barely keep up. The different areas you have been to see and the wonderful creatures are unique to where you live. You are very lucky to be able to visit it all with "relative" ease.
ReplyDeleteMy mother was in China a couple of years ago and went to see the Terra Cotta Warriors. The pictures she brought back were pretty awesome.
I've never been able to get a cactus to bloom here in PEI - except for the leaflike Christmas Cactus.
Spring is here on PEI while you guys step into autumn. Thanks for sending some warm weather our way...the snows are melting quickly here.
Hey The O - sounds like a busy week. I am looking forward to the launch of the new comic....I wonder if will feature any aunties or weenies! Spring forgot to visit Ottawa this year and we seem to have jumped right into summer. Bella has decided that she can only pee on snow, so she has one little patch in the woods....not sure what she is going to do in two days from now when it has all melted. I am learning how to drywall and paint. I am sanding so much that I look like I fell in a barrel of flour. Have a fun week and don't get pricked by your cacti!
