Puppets, Parks and People

This week started with a gardening day. Then we discovered there are dog parks in Featherston and Carterton. Those are the towns next to us. Bam is really really happy that we found these, especially the one with ducks and ponds!!! HEHEHE Wet dog smell in the car.

I have been working on my family tree. Still need to find some research on Grandad's branch. On my tree the boxes are the grandparents and the parents, the apples are the aunts and uncles and the leaves are the cousins. I'm still working on this but here is a picture. The flags are where our ancestors are from and the plane and ship show we are a family of immigrants.

On Thursday we saw a documentary about Kevin Clash. He is the guy who does Elmo.

It is a great film and the scene where he opens the drawers at the muppet workshop and you see all the eyes and bits and bobs and moustaches and stuff just made me want to make a puppet. So we went to the sewing shop and got some stuff and made these two characters. The black one is Erp (he is a bit unpredictable) and the puple one is Morton. He is quite humorous.

We are just getting to know them but here are some pictures from their greeting. Erp is learning to type but keeps trying to swallow the mouse.

Me and my dad are going to watch the Wellington Pheonix game tonight GO THE NIX!!!!

  1. Hi Theo - finally worked out how to make a post that actually has my name on it - I may be old but I still got some tricks kiddo. Loved the photo of you and Bam having fun, you both look fit and you had a great 5km run today for the kindy fun run. I think its great you are playing around with the puppet idea, our kindy kids have gone through the same learning process this year too! You should have come to our puppet show last term. Maybe you could come and show the kindy kids your sock puppets this week? I really like the idea you have given them names and characters, this idea would extend the learning for the kindy kids Theo. Too bad the nix didn't come to the party last night but hopefully the gunners will do alright tonight. Luv - Dad.
