last week of school

Ok i know how you guys weren't looking forward to the summer holidays because you will miss my blog  so i am going to post little posts over the summer of what we are doing and pictures of course. This way I can keep track of my stats- like I have people from Russia, Turkey, Canada, USA, UK, and Egypt looking at this page and I would like to keep that going.

This week we saw a very special bird: A WHITE KIWI. No albino-ism, she is just a white feathered kiwi. Little beauty! There is a gene that is very rare that sometimes shows up in kiwi. Maukura is the first white kiwi born in captivity and she lives at Pukaha/Mt Bruce.

We went to see her and climbed the ridge and spent a couple of hours in the bush. I like listening to the birds and taking photos of the trees and blowing my nose on big leaves of BushMan's Friend! We saw tuatara, eels, kiwi, takahe and a coke spider.

We are going to finish up with school. It was an exciting year. Some highlights were: swimming all year, going to Canada, creating Wildcard, tinkering, maths especially developing strategies and seeing angles everywhere, reading all the Artemis Fowl series and Holes and Trash, zoology, and writing this blog. I will end with a thanks to the teacher who has taught me through out the year even through blood sweat and tears (not really blood more like tomater sauce hehehe) HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY HAVE A LOOK AT THESE COOL PICTURES. 2. Just a minute while I wipe off the blood sweat and tears.... oh ther we go now I can see! It has been a real privilege being your teacher this year and I love how you have faced challenges and smiled and laughed and become so confident. I also like how you "get" my quirky sense of humour and my stories about cones. We have read some great books, walked some great paths and talked about some important stuff. See you in the School Cave in 2012. Cheers Big Ears- Mum.
